The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U was announced in mid-2022. The processor is based on the Zen 3+ architecture, with an improved 6 nm manufacturing process and slightly higher clock rates. It clocks from 2.7 GHz in standard mode and 4.7 GHz in turbo mode. Hyperthreading is also supported, which enables computing on 8 cores and 16 virtual threads.
The TDP (Thermal Design Power) is 28 watts, making the processor very efficient, but also slightly less powerful than comparable processors such as the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H. With support for DDR5-4800 MHz and LPDDR5-6400 MHz, only the fastest RAM currently available on the market is installed in this processor.
With the new AMD Radeon 680M as an internally installed graphics card, many older or less demanding games can be played smoothly on medium to high settings. Image and video editing also work with this graphics card.
