The AMD Ryzen 7 7730U is a processor for mobile devices that was launched on the market in January 2022. It corresponds to the Zen 3 architecture and is manufactured using the 7nm process and is suitable for various leisure or office applications.

Like the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U from the Barcello series, the CPU has 8 Zen cores, which can process up to 16 threads thanks to multithreading. There is also 16MB L3 and 4MB L2 cache for fast processing of frequently used data. AMD puts the TDP at just 15W, while consumption can rise up to 25W. This makes the processor with the U suffix, which AMD uses for energy-saving CPUs, a good choice for lightweight notebooks that are equipped with no or only very rudimentary cooling systems. The basic clock rate of the CPU is 2GHz, in boost the cores clock up to 4.5GHz. This processor can therefore compete with Intel Core i5 models such as the Intel Core i5-1235U.

Integrated graphics card
The AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 (4000/5000) is used as the integrated graphics in the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U. This clocks at up to 2 GHz and is more of an entry-level solution that is suitable for media playback, surfing and office applications. The performance is only sufficient for games with low demands on the graphics card. For more demanding challenges, other iGPUs are better suited, such as the AMD Radeon 760M or the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 96 EUs. These can also be used for light image and video editing as well as more demanding games at low detail levels.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7730U is an economical mid-range processor and is well suited for everyday use in the office or at home. If you need higher graphics performance, you may be better off with an Intel Core i7-1255U or an AMD Ryzen 7 7735U.
