AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS

Launched in late 2023, the AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS is AMD's eighth-generation CPU designed specifically for use in high-performance and energy-efficient mobile devices.

Technical data and performance of the AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS
The AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS has six performance cores that offer good computing power and support hyperthreading, which enables a total of 12 threads to be processed. The processor clocks at a base frequency of 4.3GHz and can accelerate up to 5GHz in boost mode to provide additional performance for compute-intensive applications.

Compared to the Intel Core i5-1335U, which has two performance cores and eight efficiency cores, the Ryzen 5 8645HS offers a pure performance core architecture, making it particularly powerful for compute-intensive applications. This architecture enables excellent multitasking performance and is suitable for professional applications such as video and image editing as well as basic gaming. The AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS has a total of 16MB L3 cache, which can quickly retrieve and process frequently used data. AMD specifies the power consumption at 45 watts in normal operation. The Intel Core i5-1335U, on the other hand, only needs 15 watts TDP, but also only has a base clock of 3.4 GHz.

Integrated graphics card and additional functions
An integrated AMD Radeon 760M with 8 processing units is used in the AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS. This iGPU is based on the RDNA 3 architecture and offers sufficient performance for multimedia applications, such as playing 4K videos, surfing the internet and light image and video editing. Gaming less graphics-intensive titles at high detail levels is also possible without any problems, making the processor a versatile choice for a wide range of application scenarios.

If you compare the iGPU of the Ryzen 5 8645HS with that of the Intel Core i5-1335U, which has Intel Iris Xe Graphics with 80 execution units, it becomes clear that the Ryzen's Radeon Graphics offers similar, if not better, graphics performance. This makes the Ryzen 5 8645HS a good choice for users who regularly use more graphics-intensive applications. However, the AMD Radeon 760M cannot keep up with a dedicated graphics card from the high-end segment.

AI engine and additional functions
An outstanding feature of the AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS is the integrated AI engine, which was specially developed for applications with artificial intelligence. This AI engine makes it possible to process AI-based tasks more efficiently and faster, which is particularly beneficial for modern applications in the areas of image and speech recognition as well as machine learning.

The processor also supports modern connectivity standards such as WiFi 6E and supports multiple USB 4 ports, enabling fast data transfer and connection of external devices. The memory controller supports up to 256GB of DDR5-5600 or LPDDR5x-7500 memory, ensuring smooth performance in multitasking and memory-intensive applications.
